This pendant was meticulously drilled and cut by hand from an actual Egyptian 50 piastres coin. It features the image of Cleopatra.
Cleopatra was the ruler of Egypt from around 51 to 30 BC. She was part of the Ptolemaic Dynasty, and descended from the Macedonian Greeks. Although she is often historically known in reference to her relationships with famous male figures such as Julius Caesar and Mark Antony, she was an intelligent and powerful leader. It is reported that she spoke up to a dozen languages and was educated in mathematics, philosophy and astronomy among other subjects.
This coin is approx. 25 mm and is golden in color. It comes on a strong and hypoallergenic 20" stainless steel chain. Other chain or cord options are possible upon request.
