This pendant was meticulously drilled and cut by hand from an actual Norwegian one krone coin. It features a rearing Norwegian Fjord Horse.
The Norwegian Fjord Horse is a smaller breed of horse from western Norway. It is one of the worlds oldest breeds of horses, whose ancestors are believed to have migrated to Norway from Asia, and then domesticated over 4,000 years ago. Evidence suggests that this type of horse has been selectively bred for at least 2,000 years, and was used as a war horse by the Vikings. The Fjord Horse has been used as a farm horse in Norway for centuries. It is known for it's agility and good temperament.
This coin is 25 mm and is silver in color. It comes on a strong and hypoallergenic 20" stainless steel chain. Other chain or cord options are possible upon request.
