This pendant was meticulously drilled and cut by hand from an actual Australian one dollar silver bar coin. It features stylized Chinese dragons.
The image on this coin is of serpentine Chinese style dragons around a flaming pearl. The symbolism of the dragon and pearl in many East Asian cultures is extensive, and includes wisdom, power, good luck and many other benevolent attributes. This coin was issued by The Perth Mint in 99.99% pure silver as Australian legal tender, although intended mostly for collectors of coins and bullion.
This coin is approx. 47 x 27 mm and is made of pure silver. It comes on a strong 20" sterling silver wheat chain.
